Here at Express Media, we are so happy to welcome Gayantha Wickramaratne to the team as our new Intern for the Catalyse Nonfiction Prize!

We had a little get-to-know-you with Wicky before he starts his role with us.

What part about being the Catalyse Prize Intern are you most excited about?

I am thrilled to learn about the creative process behind the scene and to work and collaborate with other like-minded Creatives.

Are you a writer/artist/editor yourself? What do you like to create and/or what do you like to read?

I am a writer and an editor. Currently I am exploring Lovecraftian Horror genre and trying to incorporate its essence into my writing.

What do you hope to do after your time with Express Media?

I’m hoping to finish writing my poetry collection and hopefully publish it before the world ends.

 

Wicky is coming on board as the Catalyse Nonfiction Prize intern  this year as a part of his study with Deakin University. He will be working closely with our Admin and Comms Coordinator Jes Layton to market the Catalyse prize as well as our Creative Producer Magenta Sheridan in regards to production. He will be building off of the work done by previous Prize intern Isha Rathee who re-imagined the Catalyse Prize in 2021.
