Express Media is pleased to announce the appointment of Pippa Bainbridge as its new Chief Executive Officer and General Manager.

Pippa has served as the Company Manager and Creative Producer at La Mama Theatre, and studied arts management at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

“I am thrilled to be joining an organisation with such a rich history of supporting our creative community by giving a voice to young writers across the country. I am inspired by the depth and diversity of those voices and look forward to being part of a thriving hub that provides access to opportunities for development and recognises outstanding work,” Pippa said.

Express Media Chair, John Gillman, said the Board is delighted to welcome Pippa to the organisation.

“Pippa has a strong record of leading arts organisations and driving and supporting creativity among artists,” John said. “The fact that Pippa is also a practising artist means she will bring a great new perspective to Express Media. Her experience across a broad spectrum of festivals, events and publications gives a great base to draw on and we are really looking forward to seeing her put her own stamp on the role.”

Pippa joins Express Media at an exciting time, as the organisation heads into its 30th year and publishes the 100th edition of its flagship publication, Voiceworks.

“I want to recognise outgoing CEO and GM, Steve Lamattina, for his great contribution to Express Media over the past 18 months and wish him well on his travels,” John said.

Pippa will be commencing her position with Express Media mid-April.
