NYWM: Day Thirteen

The Queensland Writers’ Centre and Australian Society of Authors have joined forces to bring writers a workshop on creating and managing your own self-promotion. Regardless of whether you want to be a journalist, a short-story writer or a poet, managing your PR is essential. Check out the free Authorpreneur workshops which are on next week at the Thuringowa Library in Townsville (June 22) and Cairns Library (June 23). Bookings are essential, and more information can be found at the ASA website.

Queensland writers, don’t forget today is the final day for submissions to the State Library of Queensland Young Writers Award.

Next week at Shearer’s Bookstore NSW Writers’ Centre tutors are pulled out of their comfort zone and asked to pitch a book idea not in their genre. Head along to enjoy wine, cheese and some entertaining genre mash-ups. The writers’ centre will also be launching their July-Dec 2012 Course Program. To attend on June 20 at 7pm book at events@nswwc.org.au

Today the NYWM Travelling Story is in Queensland. Our daily writer is Chante Donald, 19, from Parkwood.
