The closing date for Eureka Street’s Margaret Dooley Award for Young Writers is approaching. Submissions close July 15, so if you’re a writer under 30 make sure you get your final draft finished soon. See the website for details.

Writers in Canberra, those lovely folks at Scissors Paper Pen have more workshop goodness lined up for you. Spend an hour with Eleri Mai Harris on Thursday June 6 from 6-7pm at the ACT Writers’ Centre. It’ll be a table of comics, a pen, paper, and a projector, and you braving an illustration of your own. By the end of the hour you’ll have your own zine ready to distribute. Are you aged 18-23? The Questions Writing Prize is now open for fiction and non-fiction writers. Entries close July 1, see the website for more information.
