Let’s be honest, we all need help sometimes. That’s why having a writing mentor is always handy to have.

A writing mentor isn’t necessarily an editor per say. It’s more of a casual relationship that it is a formal one – writing mentors are there to assist you as you progress throughout your written pieces, having hints, advice and feedback that ensure you are writing at your best.

So how does one go about obtaining a writing mentor? Well, its simple, just ask! The worst they can say is ‘no’ right?

In terms of finding them, going to writers group or getting touch with your local writers centre is always a good idea, as they can refer you to their contacts and any writing groups that specialise in this. Every state has one, so its simply a matter of using google to find which one is closest to you.
