NYWM: Day 1
Get ready to throw confetti in the air and dance gleefully like no one cares because National Young Writers’ Month is finally upon us! Whether you’re a regular or a newbie looking to develop their writing skills, Express Media welcomes you all to what will certainly be an eventful June.
Before we go on, for those of you that are new, please click here to learn more about National Young Writers’ Month.
So what can you expect over the next 30 days? Well first off, you will be getting tonnes of help and advice to achieve your individual writing goals. We’re here to support every writer and their needs, so whether you’re a hopeful author or a budding journalist we’ve got you covered on all bases.
Each day on this blog we’ll be posting many opportunities including competitions to get your name out there, magazines needing an extra pair of creative hands, upcoming events and many resources to help you get published. Subscribe to the feed to receive each post as an email to your inbox, or via an RSS reader.
And if you’re ever in desperate need for motivation (because contrary to popular belief, getting your words on a page can be extremely difficult at times!), then look no further than our writer profiles which showcase other emerging writers and the goals they wish to achieve for NWYM. We are actually on the lookout for writers to profile on the blog during June. If you’re happy to answer a few questions about you and your writing, please fill out this form.
If you love Voiceworks just as much as we do, then you’ll be aware that a new editor has been appointed. Her name is Elizabeth Flux and she is marvellous – follow her blog ‘Harold Is Cool’ and check out some of her many published pieces. Keep up to date with her latest endeavours by following her on Twitter.

“I would advise anyone who aspires to a writing career that before developing his talent he would be wise to develop a thick hide.”
