Express Media, in partnership with The Age, is excited to present The Under Age.

The Under Age is a fortnightly online newspaper written entirely by Victorian high school journalists. Each fortnight the group of 13 young people will workshop their story ideas with each other and also with selected industry professionals. The newspaper will include articles on news, sport, politics, art and culture.

We will be launching the 2012 team of young writers on Monday March 26 from 6pm at The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas with special guest launcher Margaret Simons.

Margaret is an award-winning freelance journalist and author, who explored the future of journalism in her latest book, Journalism at the Crossroads. She is also the Director of the Centre for Advanced Journalism at the University of Melbourne and the coordinator of their new Masters in Journalism program, as well as writing and blogging about media for Crikey.

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet the team of young writers for The Under Age in 2012 for the first time.
