National Young Writers’ Month is back in 2012!

NYWM is a month of online and offline activities held in June each year. The aim is for young writers around Australia to set and complete their individual writing goals, as well as get involved in a national community of their peers.

Highlights of this year’s NYWM program include:

• A travelling story, where we ask 30 young writers in 30 towns around Australia to contribute 100 words each to a national young writers’ story to be published in the September issue of Voiceworks;
• A national online collaborative story written by you;
• Profiles of writing and youth organisations near you with a focus on how you can get involved;
• The launch of Voiceworks #89 ‘Space’ in capital cities around the country;
• Publication submission opportunities, including a new comic book publication, Collision, launching in National Science Week;
• Competitions, including the launch of the 2012 John Marsden Prize and Write Across Victoria competitions;
• A daily (yep, that’s right, daily) tips and opportunities blog throughout June to help you reach your writing goals;
• Daily book reviews by young writers in partnership with the NSW Writers’ Centre Year of Writing program;
• Online activities and motivation from a community of young writers on the National Young Writers’ Group Facebook page;

And more, all updated regularly on a dedicated NYWM blog to be launched in mid-May.
