Express Media has a lot to offer schools, libraries and youth services and organisations – ideas, enthusiasm, support, workshops, and access to competitions and publishing opportunities.

We’re committed to supporting you in encouraging the young people you work with to express themselves and achieve their greatest potential in writing, whether it be in plays, poems, novels, zines, comics, video games, letters or film scripts.

Book a Workshop

Express Media provides young people with access to high quality training and skills development through workshops. We are able to tailor workshops to your needs. Our tutors are established artists and industry professionals keen to offer their guidance, advice, and share their secrets and experiences. The scope of content is broad, and while we specialise in literary workshops, we also regularly provide workshops on publishing, design and other topics intended to give young people the tools to make their own culture.

We can send a workshop leader to your school, library or venue to run short courses on whatever you need. Is your school interested in improving the look and feel of the school magazine? Why not ask us to send an expert in independent publishing to run a workshop? Or, are the young people you work with wanting to enter the John Marsden Prize for Young Australian Writers? We can send professional poets or prose writers to inspire, encourage and improve the entries.

When your school, library or youth organisation takes out a Voiceworks Organisational Subscription, you are subscribing to Australia’s premier youth-created literary magazine, and you are joining a member-based organisation. You are opening up your students to the dynamic Australian youth literary, media and arts communities.

Voiceworks Organisational Subscription is $75 per year (inc GST) and gives your organisation:

• 4 issues of ‘Voiceworks magazine’, delivered quarterly to the contact of your choice
• 10% discount on Express Media workshops, delivered to your school, library or venue
• Monthly Express Post newsletter emailed to the contacts of your choice, packed with writing opportunities for your students or members and all the latest Express Media news
